Lt James Cook was
the
first recorded European
to visit our shores when he anchored in Bustard Bay on the 23rd of May
in the year 1770 and landed at what is now the Town of 1770 on the 24th
May.
The MVSHS has made this the
focal
point
of our endeavors and the history of the Miriam Vale Shire from that
time.
We have assisted with
projects in many parts of the Shire including documenting the
unregistered
grave sites dotted around the area, School and Railway centenary's.
